Spring Edition
“I must have flowers, always, and always," said Claude Monet. I couldn't agree more. Here are a few things noodling in my head as the days are getting longer and the landscape greener.
Clockwise from top left:
In the British home feature of Daniel Slowik and Benedict Foley in House & Garden, there is so much to love. Here’s a nook I particularly like. The color, the use of picture molding. The plant on the pedestal. The art mashup. That bird. Good inspo for a spring makeover.
Bedding upgrade for the win. These linen striped sheets have my name on them.
Bodum’s colorful coffee maker makes me smile and sometimes that’s just reason enough to buy.
I recently stayed at Palm Beach designer @cecebowman’s rental cottage and fell hard for it, especially the ceilings. Each room had it’s own design. Take the tour here.
Recently threw a luncheon that involved placards and found the best calligrapher on Etsy. She is a FIND so note if you have something coming up!
Butter is having a moment. I almost did a whole thing on it but this swan butter mold would be so sweet for a spring luncheon or mother’s day breakfast in bed. And all it involves is a mold, Irish butter and delicious bread. That my culinary skills can handle. It’s about elevating the basics anyway, right?
Hot off the presses is photographer Ngoc Minh Ngo’s latest book on Roses in the Garden. I have had the pleasure of styling for her and she is a true master.
GEM HOME and GEM WINE are delightful. Shop for your home then stop for a drink next door. Add them to your NYC itinerary.
Now that planting season is upon us, I start dreaming of gardens and @shopterrain has major trellis game.
If you want to MAKE your Easter basket this year, order this kit from Underwater Weaving Studio. I took their class in December and can’t say enough.
Makers & creators make my heart beat faster so thrilled with all the really cool spaces that have popped up to mix, mingle and make together. This gorgeous space is a ceramics and tea studio on UES. I also like Happy Medium, a cafe style setup and Recreate Collective in Brooklyn where I have my eye on the cake decorating and collage making classes.
H&M delivers a bang for the buck in this cute lamp. I want one for my next shoot.
Beauty products are not my jam. At all. My first job was sitting beside a beauty editor and the false promises that came from companies was laughable. But the talented crew at Salon Iron Feathers talked me into this serum and I am not going to lie, I mostly bought it to use as a prop because the package is so chic but it did such a great job taming my mane, I am now a convert. Thanks guys!
The big news is the opening of Printemps, the big French department store and it’s the whole enchilada- besides shopping there’s a French cafe, a restaurant, a spa, an atelier to alter clothes, personal styling services-you get the idea. Down in FIDI. Worth a visit.
Another butter visual. I mean, really. Who doesn’t want to serve this ? Roasted new spring potatoes are the easiest side dish. Olive oil, salt and a hot oven equals va va voom. Top with rosemary and floral butter pats to show’em what you got. Add lamp chops and a crisp white wine for spring perfection.
New spring plates perfect for hosting an Easter brunch or Mother’s Day lunch.
Spring holds a lot of fun shindigs and I can’t think of a better way to bust out of all the craziness of this time than a polka dot dress and a big night with people you love.
Thanks for reading!
Till the summer edition drops, continue to create some beauty! xx fb
